Privacy Policy

This beta policy describes how ThankBetter handles data today. We may update it before a broader public launch; questions can be sent to [email protected].

What we collect

We collect the information you provide when creating an account (email, name), content you upload (videos, thumbnails, recipient lists, guestbook messages, reactions, and delivery details), and usage analytics such as page views, feature usage, device/browser information, and error reports.

How we use it

Your information is used to provide the ThankBetter service, host and stream videos, send recipient messages, support optional paid add-ons, protect the product from abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal data.

Third-party services

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
Mux — video hosting, transcoding, playback, and thumbnails
Resend — transactional email delivery
Stripe — payment processing for paid features when enabled
Lob — postcard printing and mailing when postcard features are used
Rybbit — privacy-focused product analytics
Google Analytics — only when configured for the production site
Pandotic Hub — beta feedback, help, and error reporting

Reaction Mode

When you watch a personalized thank-you video, you may be offered the option to record a “reaction” — your camera and microphone capturing your face while the video plays. This is entirely optional and opt-in: your camera never turns on unless you choose it, and we show you a plain explanation before requesting any permission. Recording happens locally in your browser, and nothing is uploaded until you watch it back and choose to send it. If you send a reaction, it is hosted on Mux and shared with the person who sent you the thank-you. You can delete your reaction at any time — both before sending and afterward, using the delete option shown after you send.

Junior Mode

Junior Mode is designed for a parent or guardian to set up and supervise a child's thank-you recording session. Children should use Junior Mode only with permission from a parent or guardian. We use Junior Mode recordings and profile details only to provide the thank-you experience selected by the account owner.
